Orcs
Appearance
Orcs are short, squat, and broad-shouldered, ranging from four to five and a half feet tall. Their lack of height mainly the result of being bowlegged and walk hunched to avoid detection from other races.
Their torsos, arms, and legs are covered in course black hair. Facial hair, such as beards, is rare. The hair on their heads is short and bristly.
Orcs have gray skin, sharp teeth, and pointy ears. They also have dark squinty eyes, broad mouthes, and flat, broad noses. Their complexion is rough and course; ugly by human standards.
They live 30 years and will rape any race they capture: humans, dwarves, elves, hobbits, goblins, and gnomes. Most orc-elven child are still born but half-orcs involving other races usually live a few years. Only the strongest live to adulthood and usually become slaves unless they escape.
Abilities
Orcs organize themselves loosely into tribes and most tightly into smaller packs. Some tribes are known for their bad temper, ugliness, love of torture, and intolerance towards other species. The leader of a given pack is chosen by fighting among themselves. The strongest orc leads.
As a race, they have acute senses and can track by smell and sometimes by sight, when their prey is close by. They hunt and fight in packs of fifty or more and are fearless combatants. Their endurance is better than most humans; they can also withstand more attacks in battle than most other races.
Orcs prefer to hunt, fight, and travel at night. They will also do these activities during the day if circumstances warrant them, but they are easier for them without thr harsh glare of the sun.
Other races view orcs as callous, impulsive, short-tempered and sadistic to anyone captured and among themselves. Often the strongest orcs are also the cruelest because they do not have to care about the feelings of others. Orcs believe most other races are soft and sentimental.
Orcs learn how to fight almost from birth. Brawling is taught at a young age, often informally as orc children fight and squabble among themselves. Later when they are strong enough to use weaons, they preferring short swords, short bows, and spears.
They can live in many climate and terrains. Mostly orcs live whereever they can find shelter: caves, underground dens and burrows, or a secluded area of scrubland. They never make these shelters. They either find them abandoned or they kill whoever is living there.
Orcs will also take a space designed for a single family, and stuff as much individuals into it as they can. This results in cramped quarters, which as often filthy.
Orcs do not prefer squalor; they just have no notion as to how to keep anything clean.
They hate forests and will actively try to cut them down, which only brings elven rangers to the scene to stop them.
Orcs also hate magic and mages and will attack one on sight.
