Elves
Appearance
Elves are from four to five feet tall. They have slim builds and always appear thin and fit. They all have black hair and green eyes. Pointed ears are common. Their complexion is fair, smooth, and beautiful; they never have freckles or acne. Nose, mouth, ears, and cheeks all are moderately proportioned to give elves a beautiful appearance. Elves do not age, do not get sick (at least not from normal diseases), and do not die unless they are cursed or pierced through the heart.
Abilities
Compared to humans, elves are said to be wiser, the result of having many more years of perspective about an event than humans do. Elves are also more nimble and agile, moving with a grace and ease few humans can match. Elves have less physical strength on average than humans do.
All elves are born with the ability to wield magic and basic magical training is mandatory for them so that they do not cause harm to themselves or others. Whether or not an elf continues on to become a mage depends on many factors, mostly finding a master who will apprentice them.
Elves have a natural music ability and an affinity with the long bow. Their vision and hearing is superior to that of humans and can survive in the forest, living off the land better than other races. Most elves prefer to live in woodlands and they have a duty to protect nature from harm of other races.
