The land of Thalacia is threatened by sorcery and the presence of powerful forces. Necromancers attempt to wreak havoc in Thalacia by stealing a magic gem and have other nefarious schemes in mind. The gem will enable the necromancer to make use of a powerful magic device. Evan Pierce, a demon hunter and protector of the realm, must somehow discover the truth behind the mysterious plots.

In this sword and sorcery tale, the uneasy balance and fraught alliances that reign within Thalacia and their neighbouring lands are jeopardized. A witch near the small town of Martingis is abducting orphan girls. When Evan Pierce, a demon hunter and protector of the realm, learns of this, he intervenes to find the missing children. He interrogates the townsfolk, disrupting local customs and angering the witch. She retaliates by murdering an orphan boy and abducting another girl. Tensions mount as concern grows over what the witch may be planning, but Evan’s hard work pays off and the witch’s evil scheme is revealed to him.

However, matters worsen with this information because her plans are only part of the larger necromancer plan. Realizing this, Evan races back to his liege lord only to find he has been abducted too. Now he must rescue the nobleman from the clutches of the dark wizards or plunge Thalacia into anarchy and chaos.

After replacing Evan in the small band of people seeking and protecting the magic elven gems of power, Sir Ahlan, a knight of the Order of St. Michael, leads his companions from Wrightwood to Ravenhurst, a small town on the edge of the God’s Home forest. During their journey, they encounter a woman, Nancy, who has been beset upon by brigands. Ahlan comes to Nancy’s aid, driving off the thieves, and escorts her to town.

She claims to be a sword master for the Duke of Argentos, who lives in the castle outside of Ravenhurst, but the story Nancy tells of how she got separated from her companions and attacked by bandits raises many questions and inconsistencies.

Unable to resolves these queries, Ahlan suspects Nancy of being a spy and plans to expose her in open court when they reach Argentos. But unbeknownst to the knight, their fates are intertwined and she is critical in retrieving the next magic gem.

Following the edge of the forest, Sir Ahlan and his companions continue their journey north. One evening, they decide to camp in the wood. Nancy and Iriel go to collect kindling for the fire but do not return.

Concerned about the two women, Sir Ahlan and his remaining companions go after them, forcing them to battle a group of thieves and unlocking an adventure through the woodland and a nearby swamp. Its a race to the fabled gem that tests their mettle and ability to stay alive so that they may claim the magic jewel before the thieves and their dark mage ally do.

The Barony of Pennarth has fallen on hard times. With no direct heir from the last baron, necromancers and thieves have taken over. Now, Evan Pierce has come to reverse that trend. Amazed at the strength of the necromancers, Evan realizes he must discover their power source and defeat them before they destroy Pennarth and everyone in town is murdered.

Sir Ahlan and his companions reach the town of Dasca after a long and difficult journey. Taking the opportunity to rest and relax, the wizard Brashani goes to a local tavern. While there, he hears a tale about a magic gem that’s too incredible to believe. According to the patron telling the story, the jewel spoke to him while he was walking along the shoreline north of town.

Intrigued by the story, they all decide to explore the northern shoreline to see if the story is true. Upon arriving, they find the gem is set in a wooden idol that’s buried in the sand, but the jewel cannot be removed without unleashing a great evil. Puzzling through this, James, the bard, accidentally solves the riddle and releases the evil monster, forcing them all into a battle with the creature for their very lives.

Daniel travels north to Stellingham to find his uncle, Ramon Salvotori, an archbishop in the church. Upon arriving, he learns that the Supreme Priest, the church’s leader, has died of old age, causing the entire city to shut down out of respect. Daniel is undeterred and meets his uncle nonetheless.

After a new church leader is elected, Ramon is promoted to cardinal and Daniel discovers that his uncle’s ring of office has a magic gem set into it. It is this jewel that Daniel and his companions need for the sake of the kingdom. War looms on the horizon, as Thalacia’s enemies begin to mobilize. A cardinal’s ring of office, however, is sacred and cannot be relinquished or destroyed. There are no good answers to this dilemma which Daniel must find an answer to before it is too late.
